pupTUMBLS' STORY

It was a chilly morning when we met Tumbls and her guardian; her human mom and dad were not at home at that moment. Tumbels was worried and her friend was telling her to relax because her mommy would be soon arriving. She was trying to cuddle with her and to sleep together instead of both keep shivering, but Tumbls was too nervous. (This worry behavior is normal among the pets of citizens who are experiencing homelessness.)

Therefore, because our volunteers were just doing our routinely monthly delivery of pet food and other items to shelters and to low income households we only had time to say hello to this pretty girl and to ask her guardian permission to take a couple of pictures.

However, while we were already in Westshore running errands we could not resist buying a warm raincoat to our new furry friend. The image of the windy and freezing night with this poor little angel on her futon was like a knife stabbing our hearts. We knew that the futon will be not allowed on the streets for long. We knew that she would have to follow her owners when the day of pushing their home belongings around the streets of Victoria would come. Bosley's Pet Store in Westshore and in Langford have done a fundraising for different animal rescue groups and they have given us a card to buy whatever the pets would need. We could not be more grateful to them for this precious gift of being able to offer comfort and less stress to a homeless dog. The company's manager, Mike, and his staff are wonderful and very loyal to our Boneless Project.

Please, shop at these two stores to show them support. We also have to give credit to Superstore for their constant help. We could not have done it or continue doing it without these caring companies. If you want to help us buying more coats you would need to place an order. The dogs who live on the streets are usually large size, Pit-Bulls, Rottweilers and German Shepherds because in addition to love and companionship they are also a protection. The brand we prefer is RC West Coast Rainwear and the sizes are 28 and 30. You can also help by buying a backpack for dogs like that they can transport their own blankets, bowls and food. Bosley's offers these items too. You can also place money in our account with them like that we can buy things when needed. In the name of all the pets and families we help we want to thank you very much for loving and caring for animals!

Update, two days after the day we met Tumbls we went to the Victoria Cool Aid's Rock Bay Landing Shelter to drop cat food and we discovered that this wonderful organization had rescued her and her owners. All the family has a warm room to sleep, healthy food to eat and showers to feel light again. We saw Tumbls' human mom and dad all pretty dressed up and in love.

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!

Doggies who live on the streets need to carry their own blankets, food, water, and foldable bowls in their backpacks. They are very important to have.
